It’s the 4th Friday of the month.
Time for Snack Mao’s story!

お店のドアのべルが鳴り、スナック眞緒の店内に眞緒ママの甲高い声が響く。//

戸惑ったように入口に立ち尽くす若いOLは、バイトのまなもに促されるようにしてカウンターの端に座る。目の下のクマ、禿げかけたネイル、
ヒールのすり減ったパンプス。疲れ果てていることは一目瞭然だった。

眞緒ママがいつものようにバイトのまなもを呼ぼうとすると、いつの間に作っていたのか、
まなもがするりとオムレツをOLの前に置いた。//

まなもがそう言って微笑むと、眞緒ママの方に向き直って小声で怒る。

「うっかりしてたわ〜。しっかりしたバイトがいると安心ね!」

そのやりとりを聴きながらOLはクスリと笑った。こんなに穏やかな気分になったのは久しぶりで、口元を緩ませながらオムレツを口に運ぶ。

その不思議な食感にOLは戸惑いながらも次々へと口へ運んで行き、あっという間に食べ終わってしまった。

眞緒ママが大きく頷いた時、バイトのまなもがスッとグラスをOLのもとに差し出した。

眞緒ママがそれを見て何か閃いたように目を輝かせた。// When Mao Mama saw it, her eyes flashed brightly.
「そうだわ!貴女もけやき坂46の握手会に行けばいいのよ!疲れを癒されたいならぴったりの子がいるわ。ね、坂之上さん♪」

“あちらのお客様”こと坂之上氏は眞緒ママにそう問いかけられて、納得したように頷いた。

OLは目の前でどんどん進められて行く会話に困惑していると、バイトのまなもがカウンターの中でふふっと笑った。

「うちのママ、少し強引なんですけど絶対大丈夫なので、信じて下さい。」
Our Mama here can be a little overbearing but it’s definitely alright, please trust her.
そうしてよくわからないまま次の休みに眞緒ママと、風邪をひいたバイトのまなもに変わって坂之上氏に連れてこられたのはけやき坂46の握手会だった。OLレーンに掲げられたプレートの名前を口に出してみた。
「…潮紗理菜ちゃん?」
「きっと癒されること間違いなしですよ!」
坂之上氏は笑顔で頷く。
So without really understanding what was going on, Mao Mama and Sakanoue, taking the place of the part timer Manamo who had caught a cold, took the OL to a Hiragana Keyakizaka46 handshake event. The OL stood in front of the lane and read the name on the plate aloud.
“... Ushio Sarina-chan?”
“There’s no mistake that she’ll be able to heal you!” said Sakanoue as he smiled and nodded.
握手会が終わった帰り道、OLは興奮した様子で坂之上氏に話続けた。
「本当に癒されますね!疲れが吹き飛んだ気がしました!声も顔も可愛いし、本当に癒しの聖母みたいな感じで、心が浄化されて…!」
坂之上氏はニコニコと話を聞いている。
眞緒ママはそんな2人の様子を見て満足気に笑った。
「なんだかお似合いの2人ね。」
On the way home after the handshake event was over, the OL was in such high spirits she couldn’t stop talking to Sakanoue.
“I really feel like I’ve been healed! It’s like my tiredness has been blown away! Her voice and face are both so cute, she has an aura like she’s a holy mother of healing! My heart feels like it’s been purified…!”
Sakanoue grinned as he listened to her talk.
Mao Mama smiled with satisfaction as she watched the two together.
“These two somehow feel like a match.”
それから、坂之上氏とOLはどんどん仲良くなっていった。OLは初めて来店した時とは見違えるように明るくなっていった。艶々とした肌にピカピカに整えられたパンプス、ネイルはパープルとホワイトに染められ、いつも目を輝かせて坂之上氏と話している。
そしてある日。
「僕たち、結婚することになりました。」
唐突に告げられた祝報に眞緒ママとバイトのまなもは顔を見合わせた。
「それで、結婚式の二次会はこのスナック眞緒でやりたいんですけど…」
左手の薬指に指輪を光らせたOLがおずおずと申し出る。眞緒ママはいつものようににっこりと笑って言った。
「もちろん、喜んで!」
From then on, Sakanoue and the OL became better and better friends. The OL had become so bright and lively that you wouldn’t recognize her from the first time she visited the shop. With glossy skin, sparkling heels and nails painted purple and white, her eyes glittered as she talked with Sakanoue.
Then one day,
“We’re going to get married.”
Mao Mama and part timer Manamo exchanged glances at the sudden happy announcement.
“Also, we’d like to have the afterparty here at Snack Mao…”
That timid request came from the OL with a ring glittering on her left ring finger. Mao Mama smiled sweetly as she always did.
“Of course, we’d be happy to have you!”
今日もスナック眞緒は大繁盛♪
