matsu: i think of Yamashita shizuki-chan someone with nerves of steel, she's reliable. she was entrusted with being the title song center for two times in a row, and i never really seen her struggling with it. of course, she might have just been hiding it from me, though perhaps you were thinking a lot on your own or relying on someone else for it, and like... it's totally fine if you'd like to rely on me as well... but yeah, that is just how reliable you seem to me
shizu: ehh~ thank you very much...
matsu: you doesn't see yourself that way?
shizu: oh no, i do think i'm reliable. ofc. but i think that the fans doesn't think of me in that way
matsuri: you're a klutz like... being unable to do the things that you claim you can. but when we work together, i do think that she is reliable
matsu: so, if we were to form a pair... what point of similarity do we have?
shizu: i think that we are quite the opposite. matsuri-san is tend to be indecisive, for example when picking what to eat or where to start writing, while i don't
shizu: that's so cool!
matsuri: that's so cool! how nice!!
shizu: i'm sure that each has its own advantages, but we are opposites like that
matsuri: as this radio is listened by a lot of students, let us hear the student days of Yamashita shizuki who is making her first appearance
shizu: i'm from Kyoto, but when you live in Kyoto, you doesn't really have the awareness that you are "someone from kansai". but when i moved to Tokyo, people started to say, "you really are someone from kansai!". and it started to make me more aware of my home region. well, it's true that the kids around me are funny, and I've been raised in such funny environment. i was someone very chatty
matsu: were you the kind of girl who mess around with friends?
shizu: i was. while i wasn't someone so lively, i do love to chat with my friends, and i was also someone who slept during class. i did things like... sleeping in the wrong timing where the only one to blame is me, but i had this stance like... "i slept because i was sleepy, i didn't do anything wrong". and i think i was someone with a strong feeling of justice...
matsuri: so cool!
shizu: when my friends are being treated unfairly, i would speak out to the teacher without holding back
matsu: wow! you are so passionate!
shizu: the club members were working hard together cheerfully, so when something unjust happened, i would stand up for it
matsu: what were you obsessed with back then?
shizu: i had club activities, so rather than something that i was into doing on my days off, it was something that could be found in the school. i was hooked to the deserts that you could eat after eating your lunch box. there was a store and i really liked the pudding they sold there, they had matcha and chocolate flavors. i would buy two each and ate all four
matsu: wait, in one go?
shizu: yeah lol it's smaller than what you imagine, and i went through my classes while looking forward to eating those puddings
matsuri: but four...
shizu: even now, i like to push it to the limit of common sense for portion. for example, even now i would order two main dish for dinner. i guess i'm just such a glutton
ma: what about school subjects that you worked hard in?
shizu: my school had strict rules. phones were banned, so does make-ups. we weren't allowed to exchange valentine chocolates either. they sold deserts and we can eat what we buy, but we weren't allowed to bring chocolates from the outside. so i never experienced valentine day... i do feel some yearning toward it. our school never do any Halloween either... so it was only recently i learned how absorbed the world can be toward Halloweens. like... "whoa, everyone are so into this day"
matsu: right, if someone never did it before then surely that'll be what they are thinking. the stories from your student school showed a lot of unexpected sides of you, though i am also glad to see how those days shaped you to the Shizuka of today
matsu: do you have a club that you'd like to form in this show?
shizu: i love plushies, so i'd like to form the "plushie club" that gathers all plushie lovers regardless of age
matsu: we can ask people to send in pictures too
shizu: their names, their personalities
matsu: they have personalities too...?
shizu: ofc! there is no way matsuri-san can join now
matsu: hshsh? seems like I've been blocked
shizu: but yeah, i would love something like that and do a social gathering
matsu: do you have one that you can introduce?
shizu: there is the kawauso-san (river otter) plushie that i always have in my bag, and always carry around
matsu: ah, i think i saw it before
shizu: you have
matsu: that one is cute. is kawauso-san it's name?
shizu: yes. kawauso-san is its name. it has a laid-back personality. i always have it in my bag and hold it in various moments
matsu: that one sure is cute... sure wish i could enter. i'll do my best to be able to discern their personalities so that i can one day join!
