Right after she learned that she was selected to join her first senbatsu, she said, “I felt happy, but my feeling of anxiety was great as well. As I had the opportunity to see the figure of my seniors from up close, I couldn’t help but to wonder if I possessed the necessary ability to join them there?”
But her feelings gradually changed as they progressed through the production period, such as the MV filming. “This song is one that has a lot of smiling. In the MV there are scenes where I shared eye contact with seniors and we smiled together,” so she said happily. “The seniors welcomed me so warmly, and the Buddies gave me a lot of kind words. I received support from everyone around me, and I’ve become able to sincerely enjoy it. Now I feel more excited than I am anxious.”
The newest title song greatly differs from the previous single with its refreshing melody, and she commented, “It’s completely different from all the title songs so far, and I think that it is a touch different from the rest. I think that it will be a song that encourages all the Buddies. Because it is a song that is different (from all the atmosphere) from all our releases so far, I think that it might also appeal to a new group of people, and I would love to share it with as many people as we could.”
She described her first year as an idol, which is full of firsts, as “It went by at such a speed that I wondered if it really had only been a year”. Though she feels lost at times, with a positive personality she said, “I really enjoy being able to try new things, no matter what they are. I’m having more fun than I feel nervous, which is why I think I am able to just be who I am without trying too hard.”
Her greatest weapon is her “speaking skill.” She stated clearly of her fondness of speaking with, “Ever since I joined the group, I have had many opportunities of speaking in front of others or expressing my feelings into words during interviews, and many people around me have told me that I am good at speaking. Even when I was first introduced, I received many compliments that said it didn’t seem like my first time, and I realized that speaking is one of my strengths.”
The biggest reason why she aspired to join Sakurazaka46 was “There is a big contrast between how they are when performing and on variety shows, which I sincerely thought to be cool”. Thinking that “Age-wise, this will be my last change”, she jumped into the world of idols with a feeling of admiration toward the members– who then became her seniors. “I want to become someone who can handle anything skillfully, someone who can support the group in every way”, so she aims to be a high-level all-rounder.
In particular, she has strong feelings toward variety shows, which is what drove her [to apply]. “There are times when I found variety shows to be difficult, so I’d like to put more effort into it. I’d be happy if I could learn a lot more and become just like my seniors. I’d like to steal what I can, to learn from watching others, to feel as much as I can, and continue to grow.”
”Right now, I feel like being the one supported by everyone, but as a member of Sakurazaka46, I will continue to give my all so that I can be someone who can give lots of support and encouragement to everyone!”
