mail: i like the way the chorus ends. it doesn't end in a high note, but with a quite prayer of "beyond it, there's a flickering light of hope- please don't go"
konomin: i get it! this is the 3rd song for 4th gen, and different from the previous songs, from the first time i listened to this i thought that this one has a unique way to end its chorus

konomin: yes, it just fleeted away
mail: my fav part of the lyrics is "countless stars were shining in the night sky, casting lights that hadn't existed until a while ago. seemed to me like a ray of dream; i startled". my club activities weren't going well, and i was thinking of quitting. my "light" was the words of my senior who said, "your receive was really great!". since then, i started to hone my weapon, that is my receive. even when i have no confidence, i think that "source of light (kougen) can be the words of others. i will be cheering for you from now on!
konomin: we're so glad to hear that! mine was the d melody (interlude) of "without light, there won't be shadows either"

konomin: yes, i sing that line. as i do my activities, and as i have lights shine on me, i feel that everyone also affirmed the side of myself who are not actively working either. and that too, is a part that i can relate on
rei: my fav part is also in that same melody, "our encounter is the source of light". before i heard this, i thought of "source of light" as the future, but then comes "our encounter is the source of light" and isn't it just so lovely!?
Konomin: i get it. the title is "kougen", and i think it's really nice how that is the sole mention of it

At the end, they talked about this part in the ending where because it is one long straight road, you can go to either direction. The determination seen in Konomin's eyes seemingly expressed that whichever way you decided to face and walk toward, that is still the way forward! There is no wrong answer!
