”This single will be the lead for our concert at National Stadium. I understand that this single will be an important one, and feel pressured from it,” so she said honestly.
Toward the concert, she said, “I am sure that we will shine the brightest if we can perform this song at the National Stadium while thinking of how much we have worked hard as Sakurazaka46 until now. I hope that it’s not just us, but that our fans could also listen to this song while thinking about their memories with us.”
She also resonated with the messages carried within the lyrics. “There are lyrics in the second verse that goes ‘Life is wonderful, you made me realize’; I think that the members and all the people around me that I’ve met through my activities as a Sakurazaka46 member have made me realize it. Before I joined the group, there was a period of time where I didn’t know what to live for or the point of it, and listening to this song makes me filled with gratitude.”
One of the themes of the MV was “depicting the process leading up to a concert”. She spoke in detail, “For some people, a concert is something fun that passes quickly, but there are also those who feel pressure and pass slowly. We discussed how nice it would be if we could express how each member feels the flow of time, each individual joy, and the smiles we have when we are sincerely enjoying it.”
The 4th generation members joined the title song starting from this single. Toward this new breath of wind, she said with a smile, “It feels fresh. It reminded me of my beginning, too. There are feelings that you can only experience the first time, so I felt a little jealous about it.” Regarding the MV filming, the 2nd gen was determined “to make sure that the 4th generation are having fun”, and livening up with Yamasaki Ten particularly being the core of it. About herself, she said, “I try to take action instead of just putting it out. I’m blonde haired and tall, so I thought that I might be a bit intimidating, so I speak to them in a slow and gentle way like I was speaking with a child (laughs).” Her position has changed from when she centered for the first time, and now she has a new sense of duty of “creating a place where the 3rd and 4th generation members can do their activities with ease”.
The song title translates to “becoming an adult”. As she continues her activities year after year, she feels that “I think that my sense of responsibility has grown stronger in the past 2~3 years. Until then, I felt that I continued to do my activities because I like being an idol. But when I went to an environment outside the group, I realized that professionals such as the stage director and cameraman saw me as ‘Sakurazaka46’s Fujiyoshi Karin’ on the stage. That made me feel even more strongly that I was standing on stage carrying everyone's thoughts and feelings.”
“Start over!” has become a hit song for concerts now. Toward this song, she eagerly says, “I think that this song is something that will develop more depth the more we perform it at concerts and such, so I can’t wait to perform it. My vision is to evolve this song into one that we can sing together with everyone in the venue and connect with one another. There is part in the intro where I sing alone, and I really want to sing that with everyone somehow”
