nagi: your genmates, the other 4ki, are calling you with "hiichan"?
hiiro: that's right, everyone calls me so
nagi: can i call you that too?
hiiro: really!? i'm so happy!
nagi: it feels like your nickname hasn't really been set in stone, so i've been mostly calling you with "meguro-chan" or "hiiro-chan"
hiiro: sometimes make-up artists would call me "megu-chan"
nagi: hmm which one would be better?
hii: morita-san is also called with "hii-chan" ...
nagi: right, like tamura-san
hii: so that's why i wonder if it overlaps...
nagi: i see! then let's go with "megu-chan"
hii: i'm so happy! i'm fine with however you choose to call me
nagi: how have you been recently? we've been doing 14th backs live rehearsal every day, and 4ki are really going through a hard time!
hii: there are so many songs to learn every day, it feels like my brain is going to start smoking!
nagi: right, even when you still struggle to memorize this one, you already have to learn the next song. how do you memorize it? in sakurazaka, the style is one dancer teachers everything, and we slowly learning in front of the mirror behind her
hii: it's easier for me to learn when i am position right next to the dancer. and i think that the speed is also different whether you are positioned to the left or to the right of the dancer
nagi: i get it. which one are you?
hiiro: for me, when i'm to her left it's easier for me to memorize the moves
nagi: for me, it's when i'm to her right. i feel that i can memorize it easier there. in the past three yars or so, i have tried many different positions, but that position is the one where i can memorize the best
hii: and it really changes a lot too, right?
nagi: it really does! days when i'm feeling like in a roll is typically on days where i am to her right. and which type of a person are you? there are those who continues practicing until late at night, and there are those who sleeps in and bet everything on the next morning
hiiro: rather than memorizing with my brain, i make use of my body. i danced it over and over again, as i won't be able to dance unless i make my body fully remembers it
nagi: and during concert, is not like we'd be able to think about which way is left and which way is right
hiiro: that's right! though people who learns quickly sure are so quick!
nagi: who among 4ki are quick learners?
hiiro: like Katsumata. she learns them super quick. i wonder if smart people all learn quickly?
nagi: right? but i'm sure that you'll learn even quicker. i'm learning at a faster pace, but back then... please do dance a lot! and let's do our best for the concert!
theme: meguro hiiro selects! sakurazaka dances that you should be more attention on!
nagi: i really can't wait! megu-chan is a really good dancer, and because she's tall she appears so dynamic. sometimes i use megu-chan's dance videos as my reference. i like watching the other members, so... yeah! you've been learning this since you were little?
hiiro: yes, since around elementary school. i went to different schools and ended up learning many different genres
nagi: that's amazing! so for you dancing is like... something that you have been learning deeply through life
hiiro: life itself
nagi: so cool!
first song: masatsukeisuu
hiiro: i performed this song for the first time in shinzanmono, and i was also able to dance to it in the pathway of kokuritsu. first of all, the members are split into team reason and team wild for this song, and so there are different ways of expressing the choreo of this song. what struck me is how contrasting the chorus is, and it was very memorable to me how much we practiced it for shinzanmono
nagi: it's difficult, isn't it?
hiiro: yeah, but i really love that choreo and the song is so cool
nagi: masatsukeisuu's chorus is quite unique, and it's not just about dancing in dynamic way, but it is also particular about how to angle our faces. like which direction, angled how low, everything is decided. it's so hard to memorize!! but if you pull it off, you'll look so cool... which team were you in?
hiiro: i'm always on team reason, the one with no breakdancing. i really want to do it!! i hope one day i'll be on team wild
nagi: right, i think you fill fit right in. dance break is so cool but... so difficult!! i'm sure you'll get your chance one day... on the other hand, i want to switch team!
hiiro: to team reason?
nagi: yeah, my hands and legs are getting tangled up!
2nd song: dried fruit
hiiro: this 4ki joined for the first time. it's not just cool, but it has a lot of unique choreo with fast hand movements. i really like this song. does kojima-san have a fav part?
nagi: well... it's going to be about megu-chan again, but your wave is so pretty! you got that wave choreo in the part that you sing, right? it's so dang cool! it's so perfect. i watch while thinking of how pretty that is. and yeah, because it has a lot of unique dancing, it feels fun to watch again and again. each of us also have different choreo, so it's fun to see the differences. it was our first MV with 4ki too, and everyone was so adorable i couldn't resist. everyone were also able to perfectly memorize and dance the choreo, it made me wonder if i did as well as you all back then
hii: but a lot of 4ki mentioned how they like kojima-san's dancing
nagi: EHHHHHHH no way?? first time hearing this!?!?!
hiiro: we often talk about how you have a really good way of dancing. like... the way you move your body? how flexible it is
nagi: how??? i don't even have a strong core?? do you do something special for dancing?
hiiro: i think that having a strong core is important, so i sometimes exercise for it at home
nagi: well done!
hiiro: it can be really tough to do. but when you're in a roll, it's so easy
nagi: i get it. a minute is the best that i can do
hiiro: i once held on until 3 minutes
nagi: amazing! it's hard but the feeling that you get when you overcome it... feeling like you have gained muscle
third song: alter ego
hiiro: yamakawa ui-chan centered this song, and takahiro-sensei taught everyone this in preparation of kokuritsu, but actually the chorus has a choreo that goes "y-a-m-a-k-a-w-a u-i"
nagi: exactly!! i wonder if there is anyone out there who notices??
hiiro: i think it might have been mentioned somewhere else before
nagi: when we first learned the choreo, they haven't told us about it yet. that it has ui-chan's kanji and romaji. but when takahiro-sensei told us, that part became so easy to remember! you can feel takahiro-sensei's love in it too
hiiro: i also think that it has become a song that really conveys just how cute ui-chan is. i love this song
nagi: this song was so cute! the same goes with natsu chika, but it was so fun to be able to dance these songs together with seniors and juniors as well
hiiro: it really was so fun!
nagi: it's so memorable
hiiro: alter ego is a cute song, so whenever i saw the seniors who are usually so cool danced so cutely in monitor, it feels like a shock like, "omg they are dancing to alter ego"
nagi: it feels so fresh, right? to see the seniors are dancing like that
hiiro: yeah! it's cute, but before the last chorus...
nagi: there is a very intense dancing
hiiro: i'd be happy if everyone can pay attention to that too!
---
Q do you dream? i would love to hear about your dreams!
hiiro: i do... and recently I've been getting nightmares. like, once a week. i'm being chased by ghosts, or more like... zombies. i often get survival-style dream
nagi: and at what timing do you wake up? when you get attacked and you are like, "no!!"?
hiiro: when i'm being chased and i was like, "oh no!"
nagi: so you wake up as you run?
hiiro: yes
nagi: so scary! i never get any dreams... so the one that left me the most impression was a dream i got in kindergarten, one where i was throwing eggs at this stranger. it's a strange dream, but since then i have never seen any dreams
